Gordo and the Flowblockers, 2006

Cloth over paperclay face and legs, cloth body over wire armature. Face colored with oil pastel pencils, feather boa hair. Leather shoes, painted gourd hat. Gourd on back and base covered with words and phrases of those things that interfere in the creative process (flowblockers) and a final layer of rice paper.
This doll was done for the NIADA gourd challenge. Using the gourd was a little out of my comfort zone, so Gordo reflected that displeasure.
